We conducted a Maytag refrigerator repair in the local Staten Island, New York area.
The specific customer which we helped out with was experiencing some issues in regards to their refrigerator's ice dispenser system.
We came out to their location fairly quick and was able to get right to work in terms of properly accessing and address what was going on with their refrigerator.
After doing a brief analysis, we were able to determine that some of the internal workings of their Maytag refrigerator were giving them some issues
In the specific case of this job, the main circuit control board to the freezer ice and water dispenser was compromises and burnt in several areas.
Additionally, the ice dispenser solenoid had actually melted some of the plastic housing which was surrounding it.
A Solenoid is essentially a very small piston which moves whenever an electromagnetic current moves through it.
Specifically, for the vast majority of most refrigerators, this device is used to open the main plunger to your ice dispenser in the freezer door portion of refrigerators.
Whenever you place a glass against your fridge's ice dispenser, an electric current is completed which causes the solenoid to move, thus open your ice machine plunger and releasing ice into the glass.
